AbstractThe Book of Furtune_Telling (how to tell character and the furtune by palmistry, cards, numbers, phenology, handwriting, dreams, astrology, etc) are one of the literary types in the Persian language whose evolution has not been investigated yet, one of the previous forms of The Book of The Furtune_Telling is "account of Dominant and Defeated", which is reflected in Persian literary and historical texts. The most prominent of these texts is Nizami's Khosrow and Shirin, in this poem, Farhad talks about a category called "account of Dominant and Defeated" in a vague way, which makes it difficult to understand the meaning of the verse. As it originates in the word calculation Dominant and Defeated that is not clear in Nizami's verses and the expositors of Nizami's works have not addressed the calculation method and the essence of it. In fact, Dominant and Defeated is a form of Furtune_Telling in the form of Numbers, this account is often used in war and its claimants believe that with this account they can determine the winning side of the war before entering the war. In this article, using quantitative and descriptive methods, after examining the Dominant and Defeated examples in Persian printed and manuscript texts, and looking at non_Persian sources, we present the examples in Persian index texts of this category; then, using this sources, we will explain the structure and how to calculate "Dominant and Defeated" and how to use it to find the dominant side and the defeated side in war and other cases.Keywords: account of Dominant and Defeated , Nizami, The Book of Furtune , Hisabi jummal,
