The French post- structuralist philosopher and psychoanalyst, Jacques Lacan, builds upon Freud, corrects his contradictions, and puts forward a new approach, releasing psychoanalysis from the limitations of Freudian individualism, extending it to the scope of community and its systematic order.This article refers to the major role of father / law in the identity formation of the subject and offers a new reading of the tragic text which is open to new interpretations. The Lacanian reading of the text exposes the internal and illusory contradictions of the father/law --Gushtāsb-- who feels his pleasure has been abducted and transfers this feeling to Esfandyār, the subject. Examining the psychological states of the characters from a new vantage point helps us to understand the hidden factors and major reasons behind this tragedy. <strong>Keywords:</strong> Esfandyār, Father, lack, Rustam, subject, lack, Gushtāsb, Lacan   روانکاوی فروید و به تبع آن نقد روانکاوی به دلیل وجود پاره‌ای از مشکلات اساسی و عمده از جمله فروکاست‌ شدید و فردی شده این نظریه، مورد انتقاد بسیاری از روانشناسان و منتقدان قرار گرفت. فیلسوف و روانکاوِ پساساختارگرایِ فرانسوی، ژاک لاکان، با اصلاح این تناقض‌ها، رهیافت نوینی را نسبت به این یافته‌ی فروید، پیش روی همگان قرار داد و روانکاوی را از تنگنای محدود فردی به گستره اجتماع و نظم حاکم بر آن ارتقاء ببخشد. این جستار برآن است تا ضمن بیان نقش عمده پدر/قانون(و نه مادر) در هویت‌یابی سوژه، از گذرگاه این اندیشه‌ها، خوانشی متفاوت از متن باز و قابل تأویلِ غم‌نامه‌ی رستم و اسفندیار را به خوانندگان عرضه بدارد و به واسطه‌ی آن، تناقضات درونی و متوهم‌وار این پدر قانون‌گذار (که در این داستان گشتاسب نمود آن است) را درباره‌ی حس ربوده شدن لذتش، و انتقال این حس به سوژه/اسفندیار آشکار نماید تا در نهایت زوایای پنهان و علل اصلی به وجود آمدن این غم‌نامه‌ را از دیدگاهی نو بررسی کند. https://jba.shirazu.ac.ir/article_3146_b1d3386d390efc5c60af4fa84cdb04ee.pdf
