He was, above all, known as a panegyrist. Anvari has long been recognized as a poet for his artistic utilization of the figure of speech ‘Hosn e Talab’ (enticing questions) though he sometimes demanded such inferior things as hay and barley for his stead; thus the assumption could be that he cared only for himself or the one praised and not about  social issues. However, an investigation of his works indicates that he was not only aware of social issues but sometimes reflected upon social events in his poetry.  Like a social critic, he has strongly criticized the weaknesses and difficulties of the society and his contemporary policy makers. The present study is an attempt to investigate and analyze Anvari’s views towards the society and politics of his own time which appear more in his segments and less in his odes. <strong>Keywords</strong>: Anvari, social critique, politics, panegyric, segments اوحدالدین علی ابن محمدبن اسحاق ابیوردی، متخلص به انوری، از شاعران قصیده‌سرای سده‌ی 6 هجری قمری در حوزه‌ی خراسان ا‌ست که بیش از هرچیز در جایگاه شاعری مدیحه‌سرا شناخته شده است. بدیهی‌ست شاعری که از دیرباز در به کارگرفتن هنرمندانه‌ی صنعت حسن طلب، شهره‌ی آفاق بوده و همواره به نیروی مدح و حتی هجو، از ممدوحان خود، چیزهایی گاه بسیار حقیر مانند کاه و جو مرکب، درخواست کرده است، قاعدتا باید تنها رضای خویش یا پسند خاطر ممدوح را در نظر داشته باشد و کم‌تر به مضامین اجتماعی بپردازد؛ اما بررسی آثار انوری نشان می‌دهد که وی نه تنها به مسایل اجتماعی بی‌توجه نبوده، بلکه گاه رخدادها و حوادث اجتماعی را در آثار خود بازتاب داده یا در جایگاه یک منتقد اجتماعی، از ضعف‌ها و معضلات جامعه و سیاستگذاران عصر خویش، به تندی انتقاد کرده است. در این‌ پژوهش، تلاش شده تا سوگیری‌های انوری در برابر اجتماع و سیاست زمانه‌ی خویش که بیش‌تر در مقطعات وی و کم‌تر در قصاید او بازتاب داشته است، بررسی و واکاوی شود. https://jba.shirazu.ac.ir/article_3713_0c240a068511ba4740cd3db06f63a7c6.pdf
