Abstract

After analyzing the narrations of Fereydun in the Avesta and pre-Islamic texts, the Shahnameh, the histories of the Islamic period, and the Naqali scrolls, it became clear that although in general, the narrations of these texts are similar with the Shahnameh, there are some transformations in these texts compared with the Shahnameh. we can see that this is either the result of different sources of these traditions, or the result of interferences that have made their way to these texts by moving away from the mythological context of the narration. Among these metamorphoses, the following can be mentioned: Simorgh, Zahak and resurrection, The War of the Magicians and Breaking Zahak's Spell, Zahak's Death, Kaveh's Friendship Plan with Zahak, Nimrod of Jamshid (Feridon), Zahak's Flight, lovely Zahak, Zahak and volcano, Bermayan and milk of science, Fereydon's Horse Riding, Iraj / Bahram Abarkoohi's Daughter / Shahnawaz / Irandekht, Fereydon's Three Pours and the Connection with the Daughters of the King of Egypt and Triple Conditions, Mirab's Conspiracy, Fereydon's Flight, Fereydon's enchantment, dividing the world with a bow and arrow, Iraj's blackmailing of Salm and Tour, the sin of Fereydon and Toraj, Kushak and Farkushak.
