صائب و بررسیِ طول و عرض زندگی

چکیده
تفکر درباره‌ی مهلت چند روزه‌ی حیات، از دیرگاه دغدغه‌ی آدمی بوده است. اندیشمندان ایرانی نیز در قرون متمادی، درباره‌ی راز عمر، سخن‌ها گفته‌اند. صائب تبریزی، شاعر مضمون‌گرای قرن یازدهم هجری، نیز از این مضمون ناب، غافل نبوده و از زوایای گوناگون، چند و چون عمر آدمی را کاویده است. در این مقاله، نخست عواملی را که از دیدگاه صائب، سبب‌ساز عمر دراز تواند بود، در ده بند برشمرده‌ایم. سپس آن‌چه را که از نظرگاه او می‌تواند موجب کوتاهی عمر بشر باشد، در دوازده بند خلاصه کرده‌ایم. این‌که در غزلیات صائب و صور خیال او، عمر آدمی به چه چیزهایی تشبیه شده است و شاعر از هر مشبه‌به چه بهره‌هایی گرفته است، بخش دیگر این مقاله را شکل می‌دهد. هم‌چنین نگاه منتقدانه و طعنه‌خیز صائب به آرزوی عمر طولانی- که در حضرت خضر(ع) تمثّل می‌یابد- او را به واکاوی عواقب طول عمر می‌کشاند و به خواننده، این آگاهی را می‌بخشد که باید به عرض حیات، بیش‌تر توجه کند و نه طول آن.

Human’s limited life span has been a constant preoccupation for them. Iranian scholars have, over centuries, spoken of the secret to a long life. Saeb Tabrizi, a poet of the 11^th century, has elaborated on the issue from various perspectives. This article primarily reveals the factors, which he believed lead to a prolonged human life, followed by an enumeration of the elements which, according to him, shortened the life span. A discussion of the similes he used for life and the notions he portrayed by each will form another section of the article. Referring to his critical and sardonic regard of a longing for the long life of Khezr’s and the consequences of a long life, the article concludes, reminding the readers that more important than the length is the depth of human life.
