چکیده
آی. ا. ریچاردز (1965-1893) یکی از تاثیرگذارترین متفکران قرن بیستم در حوزه‌های روان‌شناسی، نقد ادبی، زبان‌شناسی و فلسفه است. وی تحت تاثیر مکتب پوزیتیویسم با جسارتی فوق‌العاده، بر شیوه‌های نقد ادبی گذشته زبان اعتراض می‌گشاید و قلم رد می‌کشد. او بر پایه‌ی مطالعاتش در روان‌شناسی و اخلاق، نظریه‌‌ی کاملا متفاوت خود را در نقد ادبی بر اساس سه مفهوم تجربه، ارزش و ارتباط بنیاد می‌نهد. در مقاله‌ی حاضر، نخست با نگاهی به زمینه‌های فکری و فلسفی ریچاردز، کوشش شده مهم‌ترین اندیشه‌های وی در نقد ادبی، در پیکره‌ای کلی و منسجم ترسیم گردد. در دومین بخش، شعر حافظ بر اساس دیدگاه ریچاردز بررسی و تحلیل شده است. برای انجام بهتر این تحلیل، ابتدا مهم‌ترین اصول نقد ادبی ریچاردز در قالب پنج گزاره‌ی فشرده بیان شده و آن‌گاه مصادیق هر کدام از این گزاره‌ها در دیوان حافظ جست‌وجو شده است.نتیجه‌ی این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که یافتن مناسب‌ترین راه برای حل تعارض انگیزه‌‌ها و امیال متناقص انسانی که در نظریه‌ی ریچاردز کارکرد اصلی شعر شمرده می‌شود، در شعر و اندیشه‌ی حافظ نیز نقشی اساسی دارد. این نگاه تازه، از برخی جنبه‌های شعر حافظ، فهمی ژرف‌تر به دست می‌دهد. از این گذشته، نشان می‌دهد که ریچاردز در تدوین نظریه‌ای عمومی در نقد ادبی‌، موفقیت بسیار داشته است.

Abstract
Ivor Armstrong Richards (1893-1965) was one of the most influential thinkers in the domains of psychology, philosophy, and literary criticism. He criticized all past literary criticism theories very severely. In this article, after a short presentation of Richards’ most important works, it is tried to draw a historical, philosophical and methodological background of his thoughts. Then by explaining “value”, “experience” and “communication”, as three essential concepts of Richard’s theory, a comprehensive summary of this theory is presented.
In the second part, Richards’ criticism theory is expressed in the form of five general propositions, then the content of Hafez poetry is studied according to these categories. The results show that organization of different impulses, that is the core of Richards’s theory about the function of poetry, has also an essential role for Hafez. These findings not only open a new horizon for a deep comprehension of Hafez is thought and poetry, but can also be considered as an evidence for the success of Richards to make a general criticism theory.
